It’s time for our annual convention once again, and this year, we revisit the white sands and crystal clear waters of Boracay! This should be a good time to go back to Boracay, the months of October and November are reputed to have the best sunsets.   So get your cameras and your sunblock ready!

Getting there
Boracay is just about an hour’s flight away from Manila. But getting there is quite a journey. Upon reaching the Caticlan port, a 10-minute boat ride is needed to get to Cagban, also known as the Boracay jettyport. From there, a 10-15 minute ride in a multi-cab or trike is required to get to station 1, as boats are no longer allowed to dock on White Beach.
Going Around
Boracay would not be the tourist magnet that it is without all of the breath-taking sights and diverse activities. Apart from White Beach, the establisments that have sprouted in Boracay keep tourists coming back. From d’mall to station 1, new resorts and restaurants abound. A few recommended stops are listed below:
–          Discovery Shores in Station 1 – the only reputed 6-star resort in the country!
–          The Tides in D’mall – a cozy resort that is super convenient because of its proximity to a lot of shops and restaurants
–          Microtel Inn in Diniwid Beach –just right beside Nami, the beach is quiet and peaceful. This will be the venue for our Fun Night on November 10, guaranteed exclusivity.
–          Lemon Cafe in D’Mall – the best place in the island to have breakfast! They serve a variety of sumptuous dishes, all are must-trys..
–          Real Coffee near Station 1 – also a good place for breakfast, but is more popular for their kalamansi muffins – the perfect pasalubong.
–          Jonah’s Milkshakes – a staple in every visit to Boracay. Perfect if paired with a chori or longgaburger.
–          Club Paraw – the fun in Boracay doesn’t end when the sun sets. Club Paraw brings great sounds to the party people. Make sure to stop by on November 9 and party the night away.
What to do
Various activities are available in Boracay. If you’re the laidback type, and would like to get away from the stresses of city-life, you might want to get a massage. If you want to save, you can get a massage by the beach from a local masahista (they approach people on the beach) for about Php300. However, if you want to splurge, a number of good spas are available. You can try Neo Island Spa, Nami, Mandala Spa and Tirta Spa. You can also rent a paraw and watch the sunset while sailing or go beach hopping.
If you’re the more adventurous type, water sports shops are abundant in station 1 and 2. They can take you jet-skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, snorkeling or even scuba diving. You can even ask one of the locals to teach you how to skimboard.

For other sights and activities available in Boracay, make sure to check out the ICAP Boracay guidebook.

Although this is the second time we will have a convention in Boracay for this year, each visit can be a unique and memorable experience.   So for the MART Convention, from November 9-11, make sure to maximize the time, go out and explore the island. Have fun and see you around!
